Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Marilyn & I spoke about our plans for the next year or so, while drinking our coffee this morning. We have planned a wonderful travel itinerary. We’ll be happy to have you along so stick with us.

Marilyn & I were both working at the Cave Complex today. Marilyn helped out in the gift shop and the fudge shop, while I led three tours of Cameron Cave.

I was worn out by the time we returned to the RV, but it was easy to get renewed.

Family & Friends were the answer!

We had planned to have dinner out with friends, Dennis & Sonja, Steve & Cathy, and Kit & Jerry.

Kit & Jerry pleased us a great deal when they said they were coming to stay overnight here in Hannibal. These are two very fine RV friends, and we had seen them last when we were in Galveston, Texas. Kit & Jerry were working with the NOMADS group to rebuild homes damaged by the hurricane a few years ago.

We were so happy to have them here today.

We wanted our friends from here to meet our RV friends, so we anticipated a fine evening of fun.

Kit & Jerry had checked in by the time I got off work.

Jennifer was coming in and bringing the Grandkids to stay with us while she went to her exercise class. Great! We wanted her to meet Kit & Jerry, too!

As Kit and Marilyn sat talking on the patio, a lady dropped by and asked, “Marilyn?”

It was Jackie Albasini! She and Tony had also arrived today and wanted to meet us.

I walked back from the playground with Colby and Marilyn surprised me by informing me that Tony & Jackie were here.

They read our blog and we read theirs. What a small world.

We invited them to go to dinner with all of us.

Jennifer returned from her class and met everyone, then left for home.

That was our signal to head for the Mexican restaurant.

Five couples who enjoy the wonderful, warm feeling of being with friends.

We introduced everyone and settled back to enjoy the easy relaxed conversation, the laughter, and the comfortable feeling of being among good friends.

We enjoyed a nice meal together, and lingered long after the meal was finished, savoring our time together.

We parted with hugs and then the RV folks drove to Walmart to pick up a few needed items.

Back at the Campground we parted with hugs all around, and a promise to say “So Long” in the morning before Kit & Jerry and Tony & Jackie get back on the road again.

We wish these good people a safe journey, with the hope that we might all be together again.

It was a wonderful evening, which serves to remind us that…….

Life is Good!
