Chokoloskee Island, FL - Outdoor Resort - Pelicans

We got an early start this morning (for us) and were on the road before 8:00 AM. By 9:30 AM, we were both ready for breakfast. Marty saw a sign for a McDonalds where buses were welcome. Normally the term “welcome buses” also means “welcome RVs”. When we got of the interstate and into the parking lot, we realized that we had been here before – on the return trip from Tampa in January. Maybe buses were welcome but parking was very limited. Luckily, we did find a spot and enjoyed our breakfast.

Continuing on our journey, we followed I75 south of Tampa and turned onto US41 for just 50 miles. Then, we turned onto CR29 for 10 miles and easily found the Outdoor Resorts on Chokoloskee Island. At the entrance, we went into the sales office. The agent told us to unhook and go sent back up the road to the office. She gave us a map of the resort with several of the vacant lots highlighted and told us to go and pick the one we wanted. There were several waterfront lots available and we selected one of them. Getting into the spot was easy as Gary backed in perfectly on the first try.

We spent the rest of the day completing setup and getting to know our new neighborhood. Dinner was back in Everglades City at the Seafood Depot. Then it was an early night back to the motor home to watch the SEC basketball tournament.
