It’s been raining all day. We’ve decided to stay here another night (Friday night), so we can explore the peninsula tomorrow, when it’s drier. We did nothing all morning, and finally dragged ourselves out into the wet and cold to get groceries. It’s afternoon now, and we’re at a coffee shop, using the WIFI (beats sitting in the campground’s laundry room). The rain is supposed to stop around suppertime, and they are still calling for dry and warm weather in this region for the next week.
The pavement on the streets in this region is dotted with rust spots – they mix the blacktop with iron, which is so prevalent here.
There are bright yellow birds flittering around the campground. I think they are yellow warblers:

It sounds like Denver is supposed to get warmer and drier, too. It’s been so cool and wet this spring – like last year. El Nino must still be prevailing. We had some huge storms last summer. If this weather pattern persists, we’ll be in for another big storm season ahead (woohoo).
