This morning we received the phone call that we’ve been waiting for – it’s official we have the job in Storm Lake, Iowa. ☺
Meanwhile today we took care of last minute errands. After breakfast Tony opted to go to the laundry and do 5 loads of washing, while I dropped Gucci off at the Groomer then went to her Vet to pick up her heartworm and flea meds for a 6 month period. As I was in that neck of the woods I also ran to Walgreens to fill a couple of our prescriptions and the grocery store to pick up a roasted chicken to make lunch for the road tomorrow.
When I arrived home, Tony started loading my Honda. As we still have the Honda CRV which we towed behind the motor home, and the fact that it gives us 24 MPG and gas is cheaper than diesel, we decided that I am going to drive the Honda up to Iowa, which will give us a somewhat economical car as our run around up there. I am really going to miss traveling with Tony, as we both enjoy the company and conversation. We will be in contact with each other through our walkie-talkies and as I am a pitiful long distance driver (I get sleepy) we have decided to stop at most of the rest areas along the way… for which Miss Gucci will be very thrilled about.
This evening we will be saying our goodbyes to Candice, her hubby Jose and baby Luc, and then we’ll be ready to pull out in the morning. As I said yesterday, it’s missing the grandkids that’s the hardest for us. At least we are hoping to see them all in the Fall again………
