Pacific Seals at Point Mugu Lagoon on the Navy Base

We left San Diego on May 2 and pulled into Point Mugu Naval Station near Oxnard, CA. Our campsite is about 500 feet from the ocean. One morning, we walked along the beach and found a hugh starfish, several sand dollars, a few crabs, dolphins swimming by the beach and a sea lion sunning on the nearby rocks. That morning we visited the harbor in Oxnard. We also took a side trip to Simi Valley to visit the Ronald Reagan Museum and Library. We took a couple of days to do some hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Later this week, we plan to go to Catalina Island and then take a boat ride over to the Channel Islands National Park. Pictures of both will follow.
