Headed Back

We start our morning by going back into Gettysburg. The National Park opens at 6:00 AM. The park opens but not the Visitor Center. We get some pictures with Abraham Lincoln.

As we leave the Gettysburg area, we almost catch our dinner. A turkey decides to cross the road in front of us. It is a near miss!

We spend the rest of our morning seeing how much we can lower our gas mileage. We drive Route 30 from Chambersburg to Breezewood. It is like a roller coaster ride and we cross two summits.

To Walt: You drove this road in a Model T when it was a dirt road? I am impressed!

We then take the PA Turnpike to Somerset and head south. The ride to the RV Park is a country road with many twists and turns. So far, the RV is holding up!

Our RV Park has a fishing lake. The boys are out fishing but I have not seen any catching yet. How does the saying go? “You can lead the boys to water, but you can’t make the fish bite.” It goes something like that.

To Tom Mc.: We are enjoying the cheese and opening Bottle of Wine #1 tonight! Sorry, Tom E. provided the wine last night.

Route: PA 116, PA 30, I76, PA 381, PA 40, Nelson Road.

Campground: Benner’s Meadow Run Camping and Cabins
