| 3rd May Emma day! Well excited. Got up and out (after pasta and toast for breakfast) and headed straight to the airport. The tube goes there but you have to buy a seperate ticket on the last leg to the airport which is a humungous rip off but you have to payas it's on a seperate island. We hung around at the airport writing postcards and sending them. The time went so fast and we didn't realise that to get to our gate we had to get their own little tube system because it's so big and got on our plane at the final call, had a little jog along the moving platform but all was good. Didn't see any of this runway which points into the sea thought which I've heard a lot about so that was a tad dissapointing. However they played ANTM (Americas next top model for anyone who isn't as cool as Chelsea and I) so I was in my element and my plan to catch up on my sleep went out the window. Got to the airport and literally all I wanted to do was get to the hotel as quickly as posible, excitment had hit and the ta I was taking forever. Got there and emma was waiting for us!!! Only had half an hour for a frantic catchup chat before we had to go and meet the rest of the group and the. We went out for a meal, not wanting to be anti-social we all sat on differet parts of the table otherwise we would have just not noticed everyone else for the whole night. Again this group seems like a realy good one. Two girls (Canadian and English) both seem lovely and Alica has already convinced my to try sofa surfing as she did it in China (look it up). For the boys 1 Canadian who is the oldest and only talks about beer, 3americans and 2 lads from London who are the youngest and look like real lads on tour but are actually much more interested in the actual travel than they look. Our tour guide is French but again seems like he will make it more of a holiday than a school trip style affair. We got the metro out to a night food Market where you bought vouchers before you went in and paid for everyhing with them. Good food, lots of meat but again a noticable lack of cheese, which is getting more noticable as I have actually started hunting it out x |
