The journey has begun...
Now onto the burnt pancakes and the stuck to the grill burgers and not messing up any ones orders...
Just kidding.
God gave me a lesson a few months back, I would like to share here.
It has to do the the seeds (God's Word is the seed). Matthew 13, and other gospels too and many other areas of the Bible.
The sower went out to sow to see what he could sow. But as he was laying the seed down, he saw some land on the fallow, hard ground, "oh well it may or may not grow". He tilled up the ground after laying the seed, some seed had not gotten tilled up, "oh well" he says "it will grow eventually". Some of the seed went on shallow tilled ground where it could only grow so much, "oh well", he says, "it may grow one day". Other seed landed on good ground and started to flourish but then the weeds came up and choked out the plants that were growing so good, "oh well" he says, "I still have another group of crop". The seed that landed on the soil that was well tilled and plenty of light and water grew to be big and strong and came to good crop and was harvested. He said, "look, I have done a great thing with the good crop". But what about the other seeds?
Let's look at those soil samples!
The seed that was on hard fallow ground is like us when we don't want anything to do with God's Word or His way of living, we refuse to live the way God intended us to. Arms are folded and the refusal is there!
The seed that landed on shallow soil with little water or dirt, is like us when we say okay I will spend this much time in the Word or pray but then soon lose interest. God can't grow well without the time spend digging into His Word and watering your soul.
The seed that got choked out by weeds but it was growing well is like us when we get into the Word, we are starting to really lay our lives down for Christ's sake, but then the world starts coming in and says you are living all wrong, this is how you should live. So you slowly give up that time with the Lord and follow the ways of the world and leave Him behind. Those weeds choked out what was happening great in your life. Or maybe things come against you and it is easier to give up than fight.
Now the seed that lands on good soil and has good watering is like us when we have entered into His Word, live by His principles, watch what we read-listen to or do, what we say, how we do it and not live in the world but of the world. The words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart are acceptable to God but maybe not to man.
God gave us freewill to do what we desire, but when we lose our life to Him, it is better and sometimes harder than ever. In each book of the New Testament and Old Testament there are character traits that we need. However, they are not all given at the same time, it would be too overwhelming for our brains and hearts to comprehend all at once.
Live for Jesus and not the world, life will get harder when you live for Him but I know when you reach heaven and you are accountable for everything you have done, what will he say to you...
For me, oh man...
He has cleaned up the skinned up, dirty little raggamuffin into a beautiful princess who desires more than anything to please the King of Kings and has done a pretty good job of doing that.
Some may think I am overly religous, but it isn't religion, it is a relationship with the Creator of the Universe and the Son He sent on our behalf to love us in our totalness!
For me alone... It's living totally for Him. Listening to Him, hearing and doing what He says. Doing the Word and teaching the Word.
So, now, we motor onto the Highway or I -80 to I-35 to Hwy 45 in OK
