| Well Hi All, I know it has been a long time coming...but finally have managed to get to an internet cafe. This is now continued....I ran out of battery power on my laptop so I have finally got wireless broadband access which is heaps better...how is this....20 hours for $3.70 Australian dollars... So to keep your minds at ease....yes apparently there is a lot going on in Bangkok, but I didn't see any of it when I arrived at the airport, and the family picked me up so I was never in any danger. I can't believe they drove for 6 hours to come and get me.....but get this....it took 13 hours to get back to the village as everyone was going back home from Bangkok for the Songkran Festival holidays. Yes Minny did end up meeting me at the Airport too...he wanted to surprise me so he told Nang that he couldn't come because he knew that she would have told me that he was going to come as well. The family have been great, and the whole village were expecting me back so I have had to mingle with them quite a bit, and they have actually made an attempt at learning English in anticipation of my arrival. They have been so hospitable it has been great. The Songkran Festival was great....ended up looking like a drowned rat for several days...no one was safe riding a scooter or riding at the back of a pickup truck, you would just end up drenched...Luckily it is so hot over here that you don't really care anyway....it was more a blessing to be cooled down...I didn't manage to get any photos as not even a camera was safe....waterproof or not...it is something extra I didn't want to carry on me.. Well...you all probably want to know...how are things with Minny and me....well yes it is all good....after giving him a big telling off....he has realised he was very wrong....and he is going to try and do better from now on....so we will see what happens there.. Unfortunately, he has not taken time off while I have been here, apparently no nurses were allowed to take any vacation time while the Songkran Festival was on as there is more accidents at that time....so I had words with him about that one too....hmmm seems like I have been telling him off a lot while I have been here!!! We also had our first "tiff"....but what surprised me....I had the whole family backing me up....they all ended up angry with him because he didn't do right by me...whoa...talk about full on!!!! I will explain when I am back!! It is too long to write. The kids are great...it seems there are added extras coming along to see me now...all from the families of the village. They are so cute...cause they are so curious but then shy as well. Well I don't have much more to update really...tomorrow 21/04/10 I am going with one of Minny's friends from work to a Buddhist Temple to give merit to the Monks there.... On the 22/04/10 I am going to Minny's birth village to meet his father (not his real one) this man is a Monk who took Minny under his wing when his parent's split..etc, he calls him his father... On the 26/04/10 I will be joining the family to attend a Thai wedding that they have been invited to. Then that night I take the overnight bus to Bangkok, and fly back home on the 27/04/10. I have to admit...this time it has really gone fast...way too fast unfortunately...as it will be time to say goodbye again :-(. Well guys...I will see you all when I get back to work on the 29th.
