After spending a couple of days in Christchurch, we collected our camper van (our home for the next four weeks), aptly named 'heads', which has been a head turner and tourist attraction in it's own right! The scenery in New Zealand is absolutely stunning and driving in this country is a real pleasure. Some of the scenic pictures are from the area where some parts of the Lord of the Rings was filmed, but every area we've traveled of New Zealand is differently stunning in its own right. If you are considering going, we would wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful country.

We made our way along the East coast stopping along the way at Mount Cook where we took a walk to and actually held a chunk of glacier. We also stopped at the Moeraki Boulders which years ago lay in the cliffs behind the beach but have since fallen and now lie partially submerged on the tide line.

At Portobello we spent an afternoon sea kayaking, seeing wildlife including seals, sea lions, penguins and albatross.
