View of sunset over sea from Lazos' balcony

Some of the family having avgolemono (lemon chicken rice) soup

The departure from Napflio was like bidding farewell to a friend. We've had such a wonderful time, and met such caring people that we'd be very happy to spend more of our vacation there. But we have an exciting time ahead of us as we join with the Lazos clan in Athens. The final ride in our little Hundai mini was uneventful. We're very glad that we're heading north, though. The south bound lanes were filled with slow-moving traffic, while we sailed along with minimal traffic of any kind.

Our arrival at the airport after dropping off the car was smooth (except we don't seem to be able to receive phone calls on our cell phone), and Stavros picked us up without a hitch. Then it was off to Glifada, and the home of Faye and Spiros.

The elegance of the Lazos home is apparent from the moment you step into the mirrored elevator until you walk onto the large balcony and see the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains that bracket this beautiful place. What a splendid view! The apartment itself is large and airy with three bedrooms, as many balconies, a large living room area and a most up-to-date kitchen. The warm welcome we received wasn't unexpected, but deeply appreciated. Faye and Spiros are such welcoming people. We feel deeply blessed. Coupled with their greeting were the 'hello's' of baby Spiros, Cassandra, Katerina as well as Stavros and Tracey. And, of course, there was more food than we could possibly consume. After a time of socializing and catching up we settled down to let the evening work its sleep-inducing magic for each of us. And so, good night.
