It was misting rain this morning when we woke up. It looked as though it would be short-lived, however, and we hoped it would clear up a little later.
After showers and breakfast, we went downtown to tour the Nimitz Museum. It is a huge complex and it is all about the Pacific War (World War II). Each room had memorabilia beginning with the seeds of conflict before the war, the shock of Pearl Harbor, all the major battlefields and, of course, the Victory.
Some of the rooms had actual Jeeps and small planes that were used in the war. One room gave the illusion of being in a submarine and that was pretty cool.
We found it all fascinating and very informative. Altogether they suggest one takes at least three or four hours to tour the museum and it took us every bit of that and more.
Actually, we toured for a couple of hours and then took a break for lunch before we went back to finish. It was just too much to take in all at once.
For our lunch break we went to Der Lindenbaum and had a German sausage plate. Both of us also had some German beer and this time it was better than what we had at the Fredericksburg Brewery the other day. It seems that German beer is much too potent for my taste. I like the American kind like Bud Light that hardly has much taste, LOL.
After our second go-around at the museum, we made a quick stop at WalMart to pick up a few items and then headed back to the RV Park.
Poor Heidi has been a real trooper during the past week or so. She has endured spending most of her days alone here in the RV while we're out having fun, and I haven't heard a word of complaint from her.
We grilled a couple of filets for dinner and then just relaxed in our recliners. There is so much to see and do here and we only have a week, so we have to cram it all in while trying not to tire ourselves too much in the process.
Tomorrow we have another adventure planned. Stay tuned.............
