Vic falls

Us

After visiting Lusaka we headed for Victoria Falls - the first time we have had to use a waterproof in Africa. It was one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen, but the whole place was a bit of a health and safety nightmare as the pictures will prove. I have never been so wet in my life. The river is at its highest right now which means you couldn't see too much when in the middle because there is so much mist, and water was flowing everywhere where we were stood off the edge of the cliff, and of course there were no railings or anything to help you if you fell. We had to cross a bridge to get to see the Zimbabwean side of the falls and thats had its own river flowing down it, everybody was on their bums, not helped by the fact you couldn't open your eyes to see where you were going. But it was really beautiful and well worth seeing, you can hear the falls at night from our campsite and see the mist down the river from where we are staying. Livingstone as a place is a bit strange though, a bit like a holiday resort, only travelers and tourists are here really and it doesn't feel much like Africa. Off to do a gorge swing this afternoon (youtube it). Anth is acting like a cool cat but I will openly admit that I am petrified. Wish us luck...
