Another Day In The Arabian Sea Apr 1, 2010

Wednesday 31st March Day 81 Sunbathing before 7a.m. drinking tea, life is great!... and with a wonderful view. Bill always has his cameras and binoculars, acclimatised early – just in case! Last night we had to draw all our curtains in the cabin, the whole ship has window blinds/curtains closed, and we cannot walk the open decks after dark. So that we are not illuminated in a very dark area making us an easy target! I finished my card and bookmark this morning; we were slightly rushed as there was a wedding, which was to be held where we have our meeting. As it is a public room, we waited to see the bride, an older lady who looked beautiful complete with veil and long wedding dress. They invited about 40 passengers who they did not know to the reception. This seemed a bit strange; we would have had to take you all with us! (Sorry folks we are not planning on having a re-run 45 years after the original event). Bill Tidy the cartoonist, and well known after dinner speaker was talking to-day, unfortunately it clashed with not only craft class and the wedding, but we also had been invited to the second of our special round the world lunches. This was a really super lunch with champagne and free-flowing wine. (We were reasonably well behaved!) One lady who had obviously had a few too many, started to laugh in a very strange way, Bill likened it to a hen laying several eggs – we are not sure how her fellow diners felt, but it was very toe curling from where we were. We sat outside on deck, I was reading but Bill spent the entire afternoon on sea watch, he spotted this huge whale, then a shark and then to our absolute joy we were treated to a display by a pod of dolphins around pilot whales, they were having fun and definitely out to impress. It was sheer magic, just one of those moments. All The Best... Bill & Liz
