I only had 10 days in Australia so I decided to spend all that time around Sydney. I spent my first 3 nights in the Kings Cross part of the city. This is apparently where the best nightlife is. I was introduced to 'goon' before a night out here. Goon is the name given to cheap boxes of wine (12 dollars for 4.4 litres). It doesn't taste great but is pretty potent! I enjoyed my night out here but it was no different to back home really, there were drunk Brits everywhere. From Kings Cross I was only a 20 minute walk from Sydney Harbour so I spent a lot of my time here. At first i couldn't see what all the hype was about, just a big bridge and an odd shaped building. But it quickly grew on me. I took a boat to Kirribilli which is opposite the harbour and it was from here that I began to really appreciate the city landscape. It is especially impressive at night. After 3 days in Kings Cross I then went to stay at Bondi Beach. It was whilst here that I began to see why Sydney is ranked as one of the best places in the world to live. If you can ignore the fact that it's full of people who absolutely love themselves I imagine it would be cool to live here. I did the coastal walk from Bondi Beach to Watsons Bay. This is a cliff top walk and along the route there are awesome views out to sea and views of Sydney Harbour. The walk takes you through neighbourhoods of stylish houses with sea views and through well maintained green parks. It does look like a great place to live. I also did the walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach and this route takes you past loads of picture perfect golden sand beaches. It also takes you through Waverley Cemetery which is quite stunning. It is positioned on the top of a cliff with awesome views out over the Pacific Ocean. I spent Easter Sunday at Sydney zoo which was pretty cool. Afterwards I went to the contemporary art museum, not because I thought i'd like it but because I knew I would not get it at all. And I didn't! I just spent the rest of my time hanging around the Bondi Beach area. It's a really nice place to stay and chill out.
