We departed Perry, GA and drove to Lakepoint State Park in Eufaula, AL. along the Georgia Alabama border. On the drive west of Perry we past numerous peach and pecan orchards.
The park is on the Walter F George Reservoir AKA Lake Eufaula, and is a multi use facility with marina, golf course, cabin rentals and conference center. The campground is spacious with walking trails and large open spaces. The lake is a world renown bass fishing spot and host several tournaments.
After arriving we toured downtown Eufaula which dates to the early 19Th century. The towns past importance and wealth is apparent in the Seth Lore & Irwinton historic districts impressive antebellum homes.
Dinner was at a downtown watering hole "River City Grill", overpriced and unimpressive.
