Well the plan was good, along with 3 other couples from the plantation, we were headed for Santa Rosa Beach in Florida, about a 1 1/2 hours away. The section of beach we planned to visit and enjoy in 65+ degree day with full sun is part of a National Shoreline and left in a all natural state. The beaches in this area have some of the whitest find sand found anywhere. In fact one of friends found a beach in Hawaii that had the white sand imported.
With sunglasses, chairs, and enough finger food to feed to US Navy we headed east. Everything was great except someone turned on the wind machine. It was blowing somewhere around 35 mph. Surf was up big, and the white sand was traveling horizontal. The only brave soles out where a few windboard surfers. Even the spring break bikinis were not in site. The road out had several areas that were almost completely "sand covered". Looked like a Michigan WHITEOUT ! Anyhow, fear not there was a great local "establishment" that met our needs.
Think the pictures tell the rest of the story. But with great friends every minute is a great memory.
