Falcon S.P. campsite

Harris's Hawk

Packed up and left “Americana R.V.” in our rear view mirror at about 11:00 a.m. Restocked the pantry for a five day stay at Falcon S.P. On Falcon Lake (reservoir) about 60 miles west of Mission. No groceries around there, she's in the outback! We're out of the irrigated agricultural part of the valley for a while and into desert.

Arrived & set up by 3:00 and were warned that we should be careful at night and walking near the damn alone. The Mexican drug cartels are fighting among themselves and with the US Border Patrol, apparently there was a gun battle last night at the Mexican end of the damn which I can see in my scope clearly.

Happy with site #106, hydro & water supplied and showers a three minute walk.

Brenda's thrilled with the appearance of our first “roadrunner” and three quarters of the folks in this park are looking for a very rare “Roadside Hawk” currently living here.
