It's my last day in Puerto Lopez. Not much more to do here so I went in search of the banana pancakes mentioned in The Lonely Planet Ecuador. I found La Ballena/The Whale Cafe down near the end of the malecon. This is also the end of town where the fishermen land their boats with the early morning catch. There were both housewives and wholesalers on hand to buy whatever had been caught. It was a busy place this morning and the pelicans were standing by for scraps.
