Getting fresh coconut

Vasantha and I wait will a villager climbs a coconut tree.

I love the painted horns

Last night and this morning I dealt with the task of booking my ticket on. Tomorrow will be a travel day so no journal. I will be moving south to the very tip of India. After finally, hopefully, getting a ticket, Vasantha and I went out to some property where her son-in-law is building a resort village. It is really beautiful land. On salt water, but far enough away from the open ocean to be "tsuinami proof." The tsunami has affected people's thinking in many ways. While there, we had fresh cucumbers and fresh coconut. I love fresh coconut; for those of you who have not had it, it has the texture of melon.

On the way back, I stopped to take a picture of some oxen. Almost every ox I have seen has had painted horns and sometimes bells at the end of the horn. They also paint the horns on many cows.

In the afternoon, I went to visit Aroki at the Pondicherry University campus. The grounds are quite large with many buildings and dormitories.

It has been a great visit, but I am ready to move on to new adventures.
