UK and Morocco - February 2010 travel blog

So I arrived in England. It was all very uneventful with regard to bags and new regulations etc., but I believe the worst is yet to come. I still haven’t figured out how I’m getting my camera equipment and laptop to Morocco. It was also uneventful with regard to flight times and connections. Everything took off according to schedule except I still arrived in Manchester two and a half hours late because of the last segment (from Chicago) taking a detour! We were already out over the Atlantic when the pilot announced that we were going to take a right and pull in to Boston to get a little bit of maintenance done. I’ve flown a lot but that’s never happened to me before! Anyway, it was just to do with water in the bathrooms (Sorry for the Americanism UK readers! I meant to say toilets!) and we did arrive safely in Manchester.

There was a slight sprinkling of snow on the ground when I arrived but it disappeared as the day wore on. I didn’t do much. My car was waiting at the airport and I drove to Lowton where dad and Barrie live. Dad is fine, except my being there seemed to confuse him somewhat.

In the late afternoon, I drove over to Wigan to be at Denise’s house for when the twins came home from school. It’s been less than a year, but they are almost young men. It’s unbelievable! No pictures yet!
