At last.... WE HAVE SUN!!! and cool sea breezes. So, we loaded Gracie and went to the Padre Island Nat'l Seashore. The island is a barrier reef and the Nat'l Seashore is an internationally recognized birding area. Cactus were found amongst the dunes. Unfortunatly, very few were "in town". Shell hunting is also popular. Next, we headed across Corpus Christi to tour the U.S.S. Lexington. Especially if you are a military history buff, it is very interesting. Enjoyed the visit. On the return, we enjoyed our first Whataburger. Good but big...after all we are in Texas! |
