The short drive, 160 miles, from Harlingen was enjoyable and scenic. The NAS Corpus Christi FAMCAMP was easy to find. The location of the FAMCAMP couldn't be more ideal, right on the water of a small bay just around a point from Corpus Christi Bay. It's a wonderful location with fishing at our doorstep. We'll be here about two weeks before we move on up the coast.

For our military RV'ing friends, we recommend this place, just call ahead for reservations as far in advance as you can. But, if you can't get a reservation for a space, come in anyway and stay in one of the overflow spots backed up to the water.

Our second day, we set out to explore alittle. We went across the water to Padre Island, Mustang Island making a big circle thru Aransas Pass onto a ferry then over to Corpus Christi the up the Ocean Blvd to the base and home.

The next day, we took our boat out in the little bay for a some fishing. How could we resist! Rebecca got the only two bites of the day but NO fish. We were targeting Speckled Trout and Red Drum, no luck. But we were treated to our own private show of dolphins feeding on a large ball of bait fish. They put on quite the show for us, circling, leaping, pushing alot of water making big waves. Wow ! ! !
