We were going to head to the historical park in Phimai (near Khorat) to visit the ruins, and visit a village (Dan Kwain) nearby that specializes in ceramics and pottery, but it was raining. Cats and dogs kind of rain, pouring down. We were having a bunch of trouble getting pictures onto the website, and Zitomedia hasn’t been working since the new year (no access to email), so we decided to continue on to Bangkok. 3 hour bus ride, taxi to skytrain, then skytrain to where we thought the hotel was. Nu – uh. Looooonnnnnnng taxi ride (traffic jams – a series of them!) to where the hotel was supposed to be, and when we couldn’t find it we re-routed back to Sala Daeng station on the sky train. We took it to the next station (Ratchadamri)and walked to the Courtyard Marriot, which was an out-of-the-hat pick that ended up being delightful.
Tony: A long day of commuting. And an incredibly long taxi ride for an incredibly short distance.
Vinny: We couldn’t find a hotel. It took us half a day to find a hotel.
