| 2 hours to Pakse, another 45 minutes to the Thai/Lao border, then an hour to Ubon Ratchathani in Thailand. 3 more hours on a bus to Surin, where we stayed for the night. We found a food stand that sold red pork noodle soup, and next to that was another stand that sold chicken satay with peanut sauce and cucumber salad with red HOT peppers and onion. What a meal! Vinny: I ate at least 20 sticks of chicken satay tonight. It was really good. Tony: After a day of travel, we stayed in the Surin Majestic Hotel, right next to the Majestic Restaurant, with a majestic swimming pool in the back. At dinner Vinny had more like 70 sticks of chicken satay. |
