I left work a little early on Wednesday and we headed out for our New Years trip to Biloxi. We had been to Biloxi for New Years several years ago and a casino is the best place to be for New Years. We stopped for the night and camped at Victoryland in Shorter, Alabama. The hotel was finished at Victoryland and it sure looks nice. We arrived in Biloxi a little early and had to wait for our spot but not too long. The Cajun RV park is nice. They have big pull through sites that were easy to navigate. The sites in the front where we were are gravel and the sites in the back were grass. The staff is very nice and I would recommend this place to anybody. We can't wait for the return trip in July. It was a nice day and we headed across US 90 to the beach. It sure was nice to put your feet in the sand on New Years Eve. After the beach we walked down to the Treasure Bay Casino. The shuttle will come pick you up from the RV park and take you back which is nice. The Treasure Bay was very nice - the staff, dealers, waitresses bartenders were all very nice. After gambling for a while we returned to the camper and decide to go eat. After dinner we returned to the casino for the New Years Eve gala. I had a great time and won some money playing Let It Ride. I will definitely continue to gamble at the Treasure Bay -they had $5 tables on New Years Eve and even had some $2 tables over the weekend and some decent video poker. On Friday we watched the Rose Parade and got ready for the big game. Donna's friends from Bay St. Louis came down we went to the Hard Rock Casino. I got to watch the 2nd half of the Ohio State game on a screen as big as a garage door while playing video poker and drinking adult beverages. Ohio State won I didn't but who cares I need that screen in my living room. Donna's friends had to leave and we stayed and ate at the 24/7 Grill and it was excellent and the prices were reasonable. On Saturday we planned to meet with our new camping friends we met at Topsail Hill last summer. Sauncee and Larry are from Ocean Springs just across the bridge. Larry asked where we wanted to eat and I gave everybody a chance before suggesting THE SHED. Everybody needs to see this place. It is wonderful. We got to eat the best ribs(see previous entry for barbecue discussion) and hang out outside by the firepit. It is truly a place to hang out and meet and talk to people about anything. We would all be better off with places like this where you can listen to live music drink beer and be with friends. Thanks to Brad and his sister for creating such a great place I can't wait to get back. So 2009 is gone. From Atlanta to Santa Rosa Beach to Martinsville Virginia to Biloxi Mississippi. We are going to keep fuel in the RV and keep rolling. We are determined that we will not take part in an economic slowdown in 2010. Thanks to all our friends out there and we will see you soon
