| On the 17th the nearby town of Clewiston had events to welcome the Canadians from Quebec. The day started with a golf tournament and dinner. We didn't attend, but we did go to the evening festivities in downtown Clewiston where they closed off Bond street. There were samples and booths from local vendors and local entertainers. For a small town we we impressed with the effort. The locals seemed surprised that not all of Canada is French. Last night we went to dinner at the Clewiston Inn the finest establishment in town for dinner and the 2 for 1 special drinks . Graeme was disappointed in the quality of his Catfish and hush puppies now that he is an expert on Southern food. Yesterday morning it was raining heavily and we had tornado warnings. Some parts of Southern Florida got up to 14" of rain. We got about 4" before it cleared up at noon. The same storm continued up to the east coast and dumped 2 ft of snow in Washington. |
