Good Morning Vietnam!!!

Sight-seeing by cyclo.

Lighting incense at a Buddhist temple in Chinatown.

Our first proper Vietnamese fresh spring rolls.

At the zoo!

Visiting the War Crimes Museum.

A tight squeeze in the Cu Chi Tunnels!

We arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on Apri 24.

While here we visited the usual touristy sites including the Reunnification Palace, Cental Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, War Crimes Museum, Zoo, botanic gardens, Chinatown, some shopping centres, and as always, a whole bunch of markets and temples.

We also did a day trip to a Caodai temple and the Cu Chi tunnels - a series of interconnecting underground tunnels (complete with bunkers, kitchens and hospitals) dug out by hand and used by the North Vietnamese army during the war.

April 30 was "Liberation Day", celebrating 30 years since the end of the war - so the city put on a bit of a show in honour of the occasion.
