Our Christmas Home

Elbow Room

Hello to everyone.

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving, didn't over eat, and certainly did not go shopping on Black Friday. Actually, I shouldn't give anyone a bad time about going shopping after Thanksgiving as I did this year for the first time for in about forever. I didn't go at 4 AM or anything stupid like that. In fact, I don't think I think I got up until 9:00.

I have enclosed a couple of photos of the campground where we are staying.

Crossroads RV Park is a new park on the east side of Mt. Pleasant. We chose this park as it is open year round and is conventionally located to most things we want to do before we go south. You will notice that it isn't too crowded this time of year.

In fact, since we have been here, there have only been 4 other units in here.

We have been fairly busy this past week. Been to see Shari's folks a couple times. Everything seems to be okay on that front. Went to two of Emma's basketball games. (Won one - lost one) Luke didn't have any activity so nothing to report on that front. Only had to make one trip to the vet this week. Friday afternoon Moe thought she would like to see what a cocklebur would taste like, so she ate one. After a quick trip to New London to a vet, one shot, 2 medicines, and $80.00 we are on the mend. There is nothing like a free dog.

Our social life has been rather quiet this week. Not having the Friday Night Support group around makes things rather calm. Ed and Carol Hawkins did drive to Mt. P yesterday to see us. We gave them the nickel tour and went to a sports bar and watched football. Sent Ed home in fine shape. Other than that, it has been staying home and behaving ourselves.

While writing this, I just got a pop-up from Accuweather. This area is under a winter weather advisory for Tuesday and Wednesday. 6 to 12 inches of snow, 25 to 35 mph winds and subzero windchills. Sounds like fun to me. Miss Winter just couldn't stay away for 3 more weeks.

I think that will be all for now. I'll give you an update later on what it is like camping in the frozen tundra. Until then, stay warm and have a good week. Go shopping and spend money. The economy needs the help.

Dave
