Heading over the bridges towards Port Aransas

There has been record setting rain over the last few days.

This is where we had our early dinner. Very good food.

Rick made me do it! It's a pelican... not the same thing...

This is our corner lot for the next 2 days, very nice!

We left Port O'Connor at 11:00am this morning, we only had about an hour and 1/2 drive to Aransas, Pass. We are staying at Ransom Road RV Park, we are very pleased with our spot. We have a corner lot with a lot of nice foliage, and a couple palm trees. We will be here two nights, with our PA discount it will only cost us $32.00 with full hookups, cable and WiFi included.

We very quickly got set up so we could find the Iowa game and finish watching it. They did win, but they really didn't play very good at all, missed so many opportunities!

Once the game was over we decided to go find someplace to eat a late lunch/early dinner. We went with a recommendation by some guys standing outside the clubhouse. The place was Corey's Fish market and restaurant. We each started with an appetizer, Rick had a dozen fresh oyster shooters, and I had crab stuffed jalapenos; then Rick ate a burger and fries and I had fresh flounder and a salad. It was all very good!

Once we finished eating, we took a drive around town, drove to the ferry where we would go over to Port Aransas. We also went to Aransas Pass Community Park, the 36 acre park offers great views of Redfish. The nature Aransas Pass Nature Trail is a great place for bird wathching; I saw about seven different kinds of water birds, and it is said that there are hundreds of birds that migrate through here.

Then we drove through a few other RV parks, wanting to make comparisons; we feel we picked the nicest one here! :) We also scoped out the Catholic Church so we would know where to go tomorrow.

When we got back home, we went for a good walk through the RV park, said a few hellos and then Rick was ready to watch some more football. We got back in time to watch ND in over time get beat. :( Bummer. He wants to watch football tonight, so we will be staying in; missing the jam session that is going on over at the club house. I don't know if I will cook supper, we are both full from our late lunch. Maybe a salad later, I do have some leftover gumbo from last night and I brought half of my flounder home from lunch today. It was a huge piece. More later, I have some pictures to down load.
