Helen is off to Nepal again travel blog

Hello again,

Well that's me home, it's good to be back and see my family and friends, although I have to say I haven't seen may of them yet... I was exhausted when I returned, and of course I was Lorne's birthday(that's my son) a few days after I got back, now I am in Glasgow and going to Ayrshire today to see family there and visit my old school. I am hoping they will agree to organising a charity event to raise much needed funds for the children.

My last few days in Pokhara were both very happy and very sad, leaving my children was one of the hardest things I had to do. We were all crying, the girls were inconsolable that their granny was leaving them and of course I was heart broken to see them cry knowing how much they needed the love and continuity of a family.

The hotel where I was staying helped me to organise a party for my second last day, it was great fun, we had chow mein, chips, crisps, sweets, juice and best of all a huge Black Forest Gateaux with candles.. We danced and sang played games and I taught them to do the conga, which was a huge success.

The sad part was explaining to the children that I had to go, these children have had so much to contend with in their short lives, people letting them down, leaving them and abandoning them, I felt really bad, even although I promised them I would back next year.

I didn't bring any presents back with me.. my reasoning being, it would cost at least ten pounds to bring back a piece of tourist tat... so I bought ll the children, Krishna and Bishnu a silver bracelet explaining to the children with Beenot as my interpreter that the bracelets were a bit like a wedding ring... they belong to me and I belong to them.. and they love them.

I have so much to tell you, but I will leave for next time.

My trip journal have now added a memory book, so if you want to leave a message on the guest book your entry will be included.

take care everyone, speak to you again soon.

Helen
