On the bridge

"Must"Photo Op

Inside the Red Snapper

Marilyn & I stayed in bed until 6:30 this morning. We then shared our morning coffee while talking about our day.

We did our morning chores and then I jumped into the shower.

We were heading to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico today, to show Roger & Renee around.

We left around 10:30 and drove to the border, where we paid our $2.00 to park the truck, and walked across the bridge into Mexico. Of course we dropped a quarter into the slot, before going through the turnstiles and walking onto the bridge across the Rio Grande.

Pausing often for a photo opportunity, and to shop a little bit, we slowly made our way south on the busy sidewalks, until we reached the “Red Snapper”.

We were seated immediately and soon had chips, heated salsa, and cold margaritas on the table in front of us.

After lingering over the snacks and the margaritas, we ordered our meal which was very good.

After this tasty lunch we walked across the street and into “Dania’s” where we were seated right away, for a pedicure. All but Roger, who declined the opportunity to experience “Happy Feet”.

Next, we headed back toward the bridge, but stopped to shop along the way.

I decided to wait for another day to buy some vanilla and some liquor, so it was easy to carry our little sack back to the truck.

We had to run by Walmart on the way back to the resort, because we needed a few items like bread, milk and some Blue Bell Vanilla Bean ice cream. Man, that stuff tastes like home made vanilla ice cream that we used to churn by hand. Yummy!!

Ted & Sue arrived this evening, and it was great to see them again.

We sat with Ted & Sue and Dan & Pat, enjoying lively conversation. We finally left so that these good friends could get on with their evening.

Marilyn & I will sit here in the comfort of our little rolling condo, watching a good movie and eating freshly popped corn.

Can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store…..
