Luang Prabang is surrounded by these mountains - very picturesque

Hi All,

Well today, visited three temples here in Luang Prabang. Also climbed Mt Phousi umm...410 steps mind you to get to the top and just when the sun decided to come out with a vengeance. I love this place, very quaint city if you can call it a city I would say more like a country town. Get this...not one traffic light and the best part about this place, it is untouched by western (stuff) can't think of the word I want to use...in other words...no Maccas, KFC, Burger King. It has really kept it's authenticity here, it is just awesome, and they are very proud. I have yet to see the giving of the alms to the Monks, that is a very big thing over here, I will need to wake early in the morning though apparently this starts around 5.45am, where the village people give basically food to the monks approximately 600 monks come through, so I really don't want to miss it. I am off to see the caves tomorrow.

I will attach some piccies of views from Mt Phousi...enjoy.

Cheers

Love

M xx

PS: Well not long now...and I am off to play with the elephants!!! Hope they are prepared for me hehehehehe.
