A "San Antonio Stroll"
Nov 6, 2009
|It was an “early to bed” night for me last night. I was in bed just a few minutes after 8:00 PM. I really looked forward to a good night of sleep. Alas, that was not to be.
I drank two beers yesterday. That is a self-imposed limit for me. Then I drank a liter of water as we watched Survivor last night.
The result of all that liquid intake was three wake-ups during the night, for a trip to the bathroom. Grrr…
On top of that, I was dreaming that I had a charley-horse and awoke with a real one. My calf muscle is still hurting from that.
With another night of little sleep, combined with our concern for our daughter, Jennifer, I expected to have a miserable day today.
Actually, it turned out to be pretty good. Marilyn & I walked to the bus stop, enjoying the brisk, beautiful, sunny morning. We then rode the bus to town, walked a couple of blocks to the Alamo, and waited for our friends to arrive.
It wasn’t long before we saw them across the street.
We walked together to the Riverwalk, stopping often to take pictures. When we reached a restaurant called Bourdos, we asked for a table for eight and sat down to enjoy a nice lunch beside the San Antonio River. A Mariachi band playing across the river added to the ambiance and we had a nice time.
After lunch we continued our “San Antonio Stroll” until we reached the boats. We then bought tickets ($6.00 each for Seniors) and took a boat ride. The boat was crowded but the ride was enjoyable and the weather remained perfect.
We said “So Long” to our friends after the boat ride, and waited about 30 minutes for our bus, which took us back to a bus stop within a short walk of the RV Resort.
I have many pictures to download and post for you, but that may have to wait until tomorrow.
Marilyn & I will drive to Debra & Brian’s home for a cookout this evening. Traffic will be heavy but we will enjoy the company of our friends once again.
I would like to get this posted so you will have to wait until tomorrow to hear about our adventures tonight. By then we’ll know what adventures tomorrow has in store…..
