Florida to Vancouver 4825 miles
Vancouver to Florida 4734 miles
| So we have reached a couple of major milestones on our little outing. It’s a year since we set sail from Southampton leaving the UK in our wake and we have returned to the place from where we started our journey, Lazydays the RV dealer in Tampa. We are here for a couple of days to have some warranty work done and its good to be back on familiar ground. We are a bit jaded from all the travelling, I think I know what it must be like to be a long distance lorry driver. So now we have the winter in Florida to look forward to, just kick back, enjoy the weather and think about our plans for the east coast next year. For the record here are some facts and figures about our 1st years travels. Our route from Florida to Vancouver in Canada took us 4825 miles and our route back carried us 4734 miles. Added together it’s the equivalent of towing the RV from Plymouth to Ayres Rock in Australia !! We have driven the same distance AGAIN without the RV in side trips and sightseeing which equates to us sitting in the truck, driving for almost 3 weeks non stop. During that time the trusty Ford truck has slurped 1600 gallons of diesel fuel, had 3 engine oil changes, 1 gearbox oil change, suffered 2 punctures (in the same tyre) and 1 broken indicator bulb. Apart from that the truck has just pulled and pulled faultlessly across mountains and through deserts and long may that continue ! We have stayed at 67 different campgrounds, visited 16 American states and 2 Canadian provinces. No wonder we’re knackered!! |
