The drive from Green River, Utah to Moab, Utah was an easy 53 mile trip following I-70 and US191. We parked at a BLM campground called Goose Island on the Colorado River about 2 miles from town. Moab is the heart of canyon country with both Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park within a short driving distance. We toured both of these parks in 2004 so this time we focused on checking out the backcountry 4-wheel drive trails. Some of the trails we were on included: Gemini Bridges, Pucker Pass, Shafter, White Rim (to Musselman Arch), Chicken’s Corner and Potash Road. Altogether we probably traveled about 90 miles of trails and had a great time.

Found a great 4 star Mexican restaurant called La Hacienda (574 N. Main, Moab, Utah 435-259-6319). The cheese enchiladas and chili rellenos were delicious.
