We just want some Non Chilean food!:

This past Saturday, my friend Tara and I went on a search to find a Mexican restaurant we've heard good things about. We've been craving burritos lately so we figured this would be the perfect cure. After navigating our way through the streets, we ended up at the restaurant, which was under construction! With our hearts and stomaches bruised, we continued our search for non chilean food around the area. While walking through barrio lastarrias, we were stopped by two chilean boys who seemed to be about our age. We thought they needed something, but we soon found out that they were just stopping to talk to us because they "thought we were beautiful". They proceeded to ask us if we were married. After talking to these boys for a good half hour on the street, we continued out mission for food. Tara and I couldn't help but think how that situation would never happen on the streets of D.C. My self esteem is really going to take a tole once I get back to the states! After an hour more of searching, we ended up at Ruby Tuesdays. Pasta with alfredo sauce, broccoli and chicken never tasted so good!

A Chilean Halloween:

This weekend, our group celebrated halloween, Chilean style. We all went to a house party of my friend quinn's host sister. Halloween hasn't really caught on here yet, since its a north american holiday, but a good majority of the chileans there were dressed up. The party was great and we got served homemade pizzas, danced some cumbia, and ate some pinta lenguas! (candys that paint your tongue different colors).
