Oh, one final word about JFK, the WiFi connection is really slow. Despite have an very good rating. On the plus side, the boing provider has a one-time usage charge of $7.99 for 24hrs and they're a partner of the WiFi provider in Brussels. So, didn't have to pay anything extra to try to connect during the Brussels layover.
My seatmate on the way to Brussels was a lovely nurse traveling to Italy for a honeymoon... minus the wedding and husband. It was fantastic. Then when she was done honeymooning herself, she was emigrating to Israel for a gorgeous and wonderful man. Despite here divorce not yet being final. We chanted about books and my upcoming travel plans. She was so genuinely excited for me it was a little overwhelming. But, she did give me a piece of advice to make sure I eat a lot of dark green leafy vegetables, to build up my iron. That may I will be producing more red blood cells and would be less likely to affected by altitude issues while trekking. What an awesome lady, I hope she finds her new happiness is everything she's wanting.
Now the Brussels airport is gorgeous. They actually have Pause areas of couches. I saw many people sacked out on them and it looked so comfy. *sigh* My layover was only a couple of hours and so could not take advantage of their inviting folds. They also had Airtel cellphone charging stations, a business centre, internet nooks and WiFi that was partnered with the provider used in New York. Although it was difficult to get a strong signal and my pages would normally time out. At least I was able to see that I had a host in Kathmandu that not only was willing to take me in on short notice, but was also going to pick me up at the airport with a sign! Many have promised to meet me at the airport with a sign before, but until now no one had delivered.
