Happy Halloween!! Grandma JoJo(me) joined two very scary little witches for an evening of fun. The neighborhood association sponsors wonderful seasonal events for the families. 4:00PM parade start time; ending at the park for fun and games! It is so refreshing to see parents and children socializing in a safe environment. Speaking of games, my grand-daughter, Maddie won a cake at the cake walk. You can see it is good old fashioned fun. Continue with the wholesome, homespun theme as Maddie's friend proudly said, "I made that cake, Maddie". As my daughter and I walked along with the girls, she said, "Mom you aren't going to believe what the adults do!" It was a pleasant surprise to see the adults, treats ready to give away, sitting at the end of their drive ways. One staunch Penn State fan(the game was in progress) leaves coolers of cold drinks out for the kids and hot cider for the parents. Isn't that clever? As I was peeking into their pumpkins, Katie and Maddie informed me no eating of the candy until their daddy OK'd it for drugs. Isn't their awareness more acute than ours? Simultaneously, their naive minds don't realize daddy is putting all the Reese PB cups aside for himself-ha! Having been a Yankee's fan since age 13, I'm continuing to root for them. However, our eyelids will not stay open through the entire game. Today we remained awake for the Nascar race and hopefully, tonight for the next series game. Using Helen's words(she won't mind) the next week should be pretty "hum drum". I'll be spending some time in NC prior to our leaving on the next leg of our journey. It is bon voyage Wednesday, Nov.11!!
