This week we are staying at The Woods RV Park in Montgomery. This park is very close to the Interstates 65 and 85, which makes it very convenient to stop at on our way through Alabama to Foley. It is a fairly new campground so it is neat and clean. When we crossed into Alabama we entered the Central Time Zone so we got an extra hour to explore Montgomery after we got set up at the campground. In another quest for a picture of a state capitol building we drove into downtown Montgomery. It turned out to be a much better trip than the one into downtown Atlanta. Of course it was Sunday so there was hardly any traffic. The capitol building was very impressive. In 1861 the same building served as the Capitol of the Confederacy and Jefferson Davis took his oath of office as President of the Confederate States of America at the top of the front steps. The First White House of the Confederacy is located right across the street from the Capitol Building.
Yesterday was a beautiful day, warm and sunny, we did a little exploring, found a real nice antique mall and did some shopping at the Winn-Dixie but today it looks like we are going to have rain all day.
