Music Valley Drive our destination

Staying with Yogi and friends!

Did you wonder what happened to us? After leaving Camping On the Gulf we moved on to Henderson Beach State Park. NO WIFI. It is about 6 miles west of where we were. Very roomy sites and private too! We had water and electric but NO WIFI. The trail to the beach is all paved and boardwalk goes up and over the dunes. Very natural and quiet beach. As luck would have it the Destin Arts Festival was happening this past weekend right in the park. Spectacular displays of paintings in many mediums, jewelry, sculpture, gourmet food booths and music. The seafood chowder was great. Destin has a lot to offer. Of course I critiqued and explored the shopping. The local food eateries were super as well. We have definitely had our share of fresh seafood on the Gulf coast. Destin has a fishing Rodeo every Oct. All of the month the fishing boats and charters come in daily until 7:00 pm to have fish weighed in. The event is in Destin Harbor at AJ's restaurant on the harbor. Bleachers surround the slip on the dock. Announcer commentates the weigh-ins and the local pirate tells pirate tales. It draws lots of people daily. The red grouper are interestingly a beautiful soft red. We left this a.m. with Nashville as our goal. 420 miles logged today. Trying to get home before the snow hits! The park is located on Music Blvd. and very close to attractions. Pulled in, set-up, ate and now ready to crash.
