Ollie's Asia Adventure travel blog

26 Oct Phnom Penh,Cambodia

This morning we visited the National Museum where we saw statues of the various religions of the country. Just like the Buddha Park, except the Buddha here starts out with 8 arms and then gradually goes down to just two. They say its the Hindu influence. After the museum we went shopping at the Russian market. Its named this because this is where the Russians used to shop. Next we visited the Toul Sleng Prison museum, where they used to house the common people before they were taken out and killed. Very graphic pictures of how the people were tortured. We then walked around and saw how they were housed at the prison. After lunch we went to the Choeung Killing Field, saw where the bodies were buried and saw a monument where the heads of the people killed are kept. Walked around and saw the different areas where the killings took place. Short day as tomorrow we go to Siem Reap. So I'm closing for now.
