We left Hardeeville, SC about 9:30am and arrived in St. Augustine, FL about 1:30pm. It was a pretty easy drive, 200 miles mostly down I-95. We are getting very familiar with I-95.
The RV park is okay, we've got a site at the end of the park next to the boat ramp on the inlet. At first I thought it was a bad location but then I found the deck with rockers facing the inlet and a patio with a table and chairs. A great place to watch the sunset. We have the same scenery looking out our front window. Pretty neat actually.
St. Augustine is so neat and clean looking. We are across A1A from the beach so we have to drive but that's okay. We drove out to the beach, parked and got out to marvel at the sight! It is gorgeous! As we're standing there a couple that was parked on the beach saw the TX license and started talking to us. They said they were traveling Highway 1 twelve years ago and stopped in St. Augustine and never left. I can see why. You can park your car on the beach, pull out your blankets or chairs and have everything you need without having to tote everything "down" to the beach.
We stopped at American Graffiti for a late lunch on the way downtown. It was getting late and most things were closed but we stopped to check out the museum at the fort.
My arm was hurting again so we went back to the RV park and utilized the hot tub. It felt pretty good so we may have to try it again. I think this is the first time we've taken advantage of a park's facilties other than the laundry.
