After a great night of sleep, Marilyn woke me a few minutes before 5:00 this morning.
I realize that the time we normally get out of bed would be the “retirement nightmare” for most of our RV friends, but we had Colby with us today, and we wanted to drink our coffee to get our hearts started.
Marilyn had the coffee ready to go and it wasn’t long before we were sipping coffee while I read the blogs aloud to Marilyn.
We have friends who are already in southern Texas and we enjoy reading about their day, and the warm weather.
We plan to depart next Saturday if we can, and definitely by Sunday, one week from today.
We plan to arrive at Llano Grande RV Resort on Sunday, November 8th. That is just three weeks away, so we will have two weeks of travel before we arrive in the RGV (Rio Grande Valley).
For the family and friends we haven’t seen yet on this trip back to Missouri, I just want all of you to know that we love you and look forward to seeing you in the spring, when we return to this part of the country.
The RV-Dreams family will attend a rally early in April and it would be great if we can make that on our way back to Missouri in April. We’ll see how things work out.
When we had dinner with our friends, Dennis & Sonja, last Friday evening, they informed us that their family is thinking about a reunion at Mountaindale Resort in Colorado, this next summer.
That would be wonderful for us, because we will be there from June 6th to the day after Labor Day. We have been friends with Denis & Sonja for more than 40 years and their kids are like our own. They love Jennifer, too. In fact Dennis was remembering when he had surgery and he said it was so good to hear Jennifer’s voice when he awoke in recovery.
I know that, if I am ever hospitalized again, that I want Jennifer for my nurse!
I should tell you that we are having another nice day today. Clear skies and sunshine which makes the colors of the trees so vivid.
The temperatures are still a bit cool but they are supposed to be in the 60’s on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with no rain until Wednesday evening. Hooray!
I’ll be outside most of the day tomorrow, getting the rig ready for travel.
I was asked to give a tour of Mark Twain Cave today. People kept coming in and I ended up with 30 folks on the tour. Everyone had a good time and I was back at the RV in time to help get Colby down for his nap and have a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch.
I watched the Rams/Jaguars football game while Colby slept.
Gretchen walked over about 4:00 to ask if I could lead another tour, beginning at 4:15.
I made it in time and led 11 people through the Cave. There were several people from different countries, including Bulgaria, and a gentleman from Seattle, along with a family from Iowa and several folks from Chicago. It was a nice group!
Back at the RV, Marilyn had some Tuna Helper ready for a quick dinner.
It was soon time to give Colby his bath and get ready to go meet Jennifer.
So, another fine day draws softly to a close, and now we must wait until tomorrow to see what adventures that day has in store…..
