We have been in Barcelona for about a week and the more time you have in a place the more you procrastinate on sightseeing, especially when the sun is warm and the beach is so close. With that said, there was not a single day that we did not venture to the Beach to relax and sun bath for a few hours. We have had sunny warm weather everyday. Despite all the beach time we managed to see a few things in Barcelona, including Gaudi`s unfinished work La Sagrada Familia, Montjuic Mountain (where we sat on a terrace overlooking the city for a few hours with some coffee and Kanasta), Cuitadella Park, (which is the nicest park I have been to in Europe as of yet), rented a pinter boat and went "rowing" in a pond, and many other churches and architecture throughout the city that would take too long to list off.
I admit the city is nice but it is the first city that I have not felt safe at all times. I am certain we were pickpocket targets once, but luckily we were aware and made out with our wallets and a second incident included 3 men ,2 pretending to be cops and trying to scam us into showing them our wallets as they "suspected" us as being involved in a drug deal. However, upon the request of the ID and thus proof that they were officers we were quickly let go.
Nevertheless, we had a great time in Barcelona. It was nice that we had a week here so we were not rushing around to see everything in a few days. Goodbye Spain, Hello Italy!!
