We docked at the Cayman Island early in the morning. Sauncee and I got off the ship rather quickly because of the dive trip we had planned. We had to ride a taxi boat from the cruise ship to the shore. The taxi boat held about a hundred people and there were several of them operating so, it didn't take long to get everyone onto shore.
We had a bus waiting on us to take us a couple of miles away to Foster's dive shop. We filled out the proper paperwork and recieved a safety brief and were on our way!
We purchased an underwater camera but the pictures didn't turn out too great. I guess I need to break down and spend the money on an expensive underwater digital camera. We are diving some really spectacular places and aren't getting good pictures of it.
Our first dive was on the "wall" and was 82' deep. We got in the water and could literally see the bottom that was over 80' down. Cayman is an underwater mountain and the island is the tip of it. The wall goes really vertical down to about 3000' and is really pretty. Lots of reef and life to see down there. We also saw a wreck at about 60'.
The second dive was around 60' deep and was a reef dive. We dove Belize recently and I am not sure which place has the best diving, Cayman or Belize. They are both full of colorful reef and fish and the visibility is incredible.
We got back to shore around 1:00 P.M. and started looking for a place for lunch. We ended up at a second floor restaurant called Breezes. The food was really good. I tried to get a sample of Ox tail but they wouldn't let me. The Ox tail plate was quite expensive and I didn't want to spend that much money to see if I liked something. Evidently, Ox tail is quite a favored dish on Cayman.
After we ate, we made our way back to the taxi boat and to the cruise ship.
