Dick & Pat's full-Time RVing Adventures travel blog

Yesterday, 10/11/09 we left the Country Acres Campground traveling on I-80/I-76 After Hwy 76 and 70 merged we ran into miles and miles of road construction with narrow lanes, heavy traffic, uneven lanes (One paved and the other inches lower and prepped for paving).. Pulling the new 5th wheel through this was unnerving, partly just because of the construction but part also because of towing a new rig I haven't gotten quite used to yet.

Maybe these are "Shovel Ready" projects?

We only drove about 170 miles yesterday, stopping at Hickory Hollow campgrounds near Somerset, PA. We will be here for a week then make the next 130 miles to Frederick, MD on the 19th. This a relatively new RV resort/campground. It is not very busy at this time of year but there are some seasonal and full timers here. The countryside here is very pretty. Rolling hills and winding roads and the beginning of fall colors on the trees on the hillsides make this an enjoyable spot so far.

Today has been overcast, cool and windy. The dogs did not really want to be out for long today. They did enjoy the brief periods of sunshine, though.

Today we drove into Somerset, PA which is about 7 miles away. Needed to drop off some mail at the Post office. We also went to find the lcoal Walmart to get some groceries.
