We think that wherever we go it rains. Apparently they don’t get much rainfall here but we are here, so down it comes. Kevin says its time to move on and bring rain to another town. We thought we may go to Ethiopia.
This am we went to the most magnificent caves I’ve ever been in.. They were the reed flute caves of Guilin. I got some spekky shots, including some reflection ones that I’m quite proud of. David says the Jenolan caves shit all over them, but I have no point of reference, so I’m impressed by what I saw. They had bits lit up in various colours... very nice. It maintains a constant temperature but the humidity nearly killed me. PS: I’m going to make sure I see our own caves now.
We’ve now been to the Pearl place... the South Sea Pearl company... largest producer of pearls in the world? My credit card was quite safe... They do nothing for me!
While we were there I had a news flash from Jason. The 6 Uyghur’s who were involved in the July demonstrations have been sentenced to death. Its likely they will be shot. Has this been reported at home?
Another banquet and another airport, and another delay!!
Off , to Kunming.
We are in a swishy hotel, that has two buildings. It must be massive. Havent explored yet. Its just gone 6pm and we have to go out for dinner at 6.30, so I thought I'd quickly try out the internet and bring you up to date.
Tonight we are having famous crossing river noodle soup. chicken veg and noodles. Sounds yum... and the obligatory banquet. I think the weigh loss has eased and we may be back into the gaining range.I dont think I want to know.
I slipped the Guilin local guide some extra money. She was worth it.It wasnt much, but I think here it all helps.Later if I get time I'll see if I can get more photos up. I seriously need to catch up on work though. Ive not seen my emails properly for a week.
