Pulau Perhentian Kecil...hello Long Beach. We actually ended upstaying up on the hill right next to the trail to go to Coral Beach on the other side of the Island...a 15 minute walk...it was great because we had easy access to both beaches.

The beaches on the Perhentian Island were 'better' than the Tioman ones. Less rocks...more extensive white sandy stretches...it was good. Mosquitoes were always feasting...luckily there were mosquitoe nets and repellent coils.

I had one of the best snorkelling days. I saw a black tipped reef sharks...my first shark I saw in the wild...in the water...totally vulnerable to be feasted upon. So...the reef shark is probably the most unagressive shark ever. No attacks of yet...apparently. I thought I would freak out...but I didn't. I also saw a green turtle, I think, and many, many, many different species of fish. By the end of the day I was all snorkelled out.

On my second last day on the Island, I decided to try diving again. Carmen and Oliver had gone the day before and were raving about all the cool stuff they I saw. So...I made it down this time...it took awhile but I was able to equalize. Saw a turtle, but the visibility was not the greatest...so it wasn't the greatest dive I've been on. However, it was felt great to get down there...it was such a relief when my ears popped:) I look forward to diving in Thailand...I can't wait.

The vibe was pretty melo. We hit up a Shisha bar on the beach...played cards...watched less than fabulous movies at a resturant....dove...snorkelled...and ate. I had a great time on the Island.
