We are currently located at Bullards Beach State Park and Campground near Bandon, Oregon. We'll probably be staying here for only one night, but may stay longer, and will then move on to a private campground in Port Orford, Oregon for several days.
Another very pleasant weather day allowed Nancy and I to check out Bandon and the surrounding coastline. More stunning scenery, and a fun Old Town Bandon area. We also visited the Coquille River Lighthouse which is not currently operational. This is Oregon's smallest lighthouse, commissioned in 1896 to guide mariners across a dangerous bar, disbanding in 1930, and by 1979 restored as an interpretive center. Today a solar powered light in the tower of the lighthouse simulates the grandeur of yesteryear.
